To bring enriching experiences to our kids at Trace Elementary by increasing and inspiring parent and teacher participation and communication.
The Parent Teacher Organization is the school’s major fundraising organization. We fill in the gaps that the school’s budget cannot meet and support community efforts for a richer school experience. We raise funds throughout the year to support and fund four main areas:
– Educational programs
– Performing arts programs
– Teacher/staff support
– Trace community building
These include funds to help cover classroom supply costs, field trips, fitness coaches, educational programs like the Science Fair & Dr. Seuss Reading Week, Performing arts equipment and instruments along with community events like Kindergarten Ice Cream socials, Parent breakfasts & Teacher appreciate lunches.
Trace PTO is a non-profit organization that is run by volunteers made up of parents and teachers like you!
Your membership dues along with T-shirt sales, event and bake sale items and other donations go directly into our fundraising pool to meet the costs of our school contributions and community events.
PTO vs PTA (Organization vs. Association)
The term PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is well known and is actually a National Organization with offices in Washington DC and Chicago along with lobbyists and staff. To be a PTA you must submit annual dues (~1,000 per year) to the organization.
